Common questions
What determines the feeding pitch accuracy?
The servo motor–gearbox pair, the pressure of the Ø85 mm feed rollers and synchronization with the press cam. Settings are stored as recipes; with 250-die memory, no readjustment is needed after a die change.
What material range does it handle?
0.4–4.0 mm thickness and strip widths up to 1600 mm, with a free feeding speed of 35 m/min. For material outside this range we size the line together with you.
When is the mini series sufficient?
For narrow strip and small presses, the mini series saves floor space and cost; pitch accuracy is identical to the standard series. Strip width and coil weight define the limits.
How is press synchronization set up?
The press cam signal is wired to the feeder; feeding is timed to the press dead center and a pilot-pin release is applied. Our team performs commissioning on site.
What is a servo feeder?
A servo feeder is the machine that advances strip into the die between press strokes. A servo motor drives the feed rolls, so the length of each advance is a number in the control rather than something fixed by mechanical linkage — that is what makes it repeatable to the millimetre and changeable between jobs without retooling. The drive here is Schneider Lexium, running 2 × Ø85 mm feed rolls from a 7-inch touchscreen.
What are the three types of press feeder?
Air, mechanical and servo. Air feeders are the simplest and suit short, light work. Mechanical feeders take their motion from the press itself, so feed length is set by the linkage and changing it means changing hardware. Servo feeders drive the rolls independently, which is why the pitch is set in the control instead of on the machine.
